Daoyin

Daoyin is the label of Hong Chang and Malin Troll, who studied together at Modeschule der Stadt Wien in Schloss Hetzendorf and at the University of Applied Art Vienna. Hong worked as freelance designer in Berlin, as creative director in China and was creative pattern cutter at Alexander McQueen. Malin worked as a designer for Wolford and in 2007 received as part of the Unit F project funding the scholarship of the Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture which made it possible for her to get a work scholarship at Alexander McQueen in London where she still works at the women's wear department. The collections of their own label combine the craftsmanship of Haute Couture with the simplicity and functionality of prêt-à-porter as well as cool androgyny with a soft femininity.
