The Majorcan shoe giant and the German born designer, who is one of the successors of the famous Antwerp Six, collaborate
for the meanwhile fourth time in the Camper Toðer series.
For the Autumn/Winter 2010 season, Willhelm
designed a surfboard-inspired trainer for men and a sturdy lace-up for women, both in different, colourful versions.
The
bold shape and graphic design of the high-top wave trainer as well as its specially developed three-piece zigzag
sole was inspired by - it's all in the name - surfboards. The ladies' collection in contrast finds its origin in the classic
men's shoe, two colours with a high heel that strongly resembles the shoes that David Bowie wore in the 70s. The shape of
that model is also available in - very Bowie - pleated red, blue and black velvet.
Camper Extra Events
took place in September and October in Paris, Madrid, Milan and Berlin, inspired by these latest designs and in accordance
with Willhelm's work that constantly shifts between fashion, art, design and music, overcomes traditional borders and questions
stereotypes. A range of workshops, conferences, film screenings, performances, gigs and parties in and around the Camper
Extra locations, designed by three international artists, were a vibrant meeting point for diverse artistic disciplines
and creative happenings. Once more it is proof that Willhelm is always at least three steps ahead of the game and, in Camper,
has found an ideal counterpart for his concepts.
Collections are available in select Camper stores.
