Every two years, jewellery objects by contemporary artists are exhibited in the MAK Metal Study Collection. Once again
the Austrian jewellery art is explored in the context of fashion and design - this time by means of the twenty works shortlisted
for the Elegius Jewellery Award of the Federal State of Salzburg 2010. A chance the MAK was able to use with the
assumption of an exhibition originally shown at Salzburgs Galerie im Trakelhaus. Some of the artists - including award
winner Petra Zimmer as well as Sonja Bischur, Andrea MAXA Halmschlager, Gabriele Kutschera, Margareta Niel, Kurt Rudolf and
Ina Seidl - are already represented in the collection of the MAK.
Also on view will be works by Elisabeth Altenburg,
Andrea Auer, Susanne Blin, Lioba-Angela Buttinger, Agnes Czifra, Petr Dvorak, Ursula Guttmann, Beatrix Kaufmann, Doris Maninger,
Martina Mühlfellner, Ulrich Reithofer, Melanie Sinnhofer and Claudia Steiner.
On Thursday, 2 December, 5pm, Elisabeth
Schmuttermeier, MAK Cuartor Metal and Wiener Werkstätte Archive will guide visitors through the exhibition as part of MAKs
Experts guide tours.
