Antwerp SHOW2009

In the 1980s this academy attracted a great deal of attention thanks to a new concept for the fashion degree course and graduates such as Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten or Martin Margiela. Over the years, it succeeded in maintaining its high level of quality. Graduates such as Veronique Branquinho, Kris Van Assche, Peter Pilotto, AF Vandevorst, Haider Ackermann, Christian Wijnants and many more followed. And this year the annual degree show presented by the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp will again be an attraction for fashion-enthusiasts, industry experts and members of the press. On three evenings from 11 to 13 June the students, from first year to final year students, will present their collections and installations in front of 6000 people.

And, of course, what would a show be without winners: An international jury of fashion and creativity experts will judge the designs and name the most promising talents. Everyone unable to make it to the show should check out SHOW-OFF MAGAZINE, produced in collaboration with Marie Claire for the degree show, which will shortly be available internationally.
