From 9 to 17 February, a preview of the latest trends for Fall Winter 2011 was given at the Lincoln Center in New York. The programme of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week was once more packed with big names: Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenberg, DKNY, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren presented their latest collections, as did Anna Sui, Vera Wang or Y-3.
Moreover, Devi Kroell, who last year resigned as CEO and Creative Director of her self-titled label,
presented her new, entirely self-financed label Dax Gabler. The label sells clothing, shoes and handbags in a slightly more
affordable price range than Kroells previous label, from $250 to $890. Dax Gabler celebrated its debut on 16 February
at the Chelsea Arts Tower exclusively during NY Fashion Week.
Various multi- and mono-label showrooms and trade
shows accompany the programme of NY Fashion Week, with most trade shows set to open only two days after the official show
schedule. Once again there will be several Austrian fashion designers presenting their labels at trade show The Train New
York.
