Idyllic manor Boisbuchet in the southwest of France is not only the venue of renowned Vitra Summer Workshops but also home of blickfang Designworkshop in June.

departure awards two workshop positions to designers living in Vienna from the fields of fashion, furniture and jewelry.

This year´s workshop leaders are Sebastian Wrong, blickfang curator of the year and founder and former creative director of London based Established & Sons, journalist, curator and culture manager Eva Steidl, Marcus Fairs, founder and editor-in-chief of online design and architecture magazine dezeen as well as a surprise guest from Denmark.

The workshops serve as a platform for the development of new products. Participants are invited to present their own product - a prototype, an unrealised idea or an already existing object that has the potential of development. The aim of the workshops is to detect the potential of products, to encourage further development, to analyse strong and weak points and show possibilities.
