Smells Like Teen Spirit

Like hardly anyone else, Juergen Teller shaped the aesthetics of the 90s. He photographed Kurt Cobain and Kate Moss, put Victoria Beckham in a purse, and his works are displayed in numerous international exhibitions (currently in Frankfurt's “Not in Fashion”, see Shortcuts 68).

Teller has, amongst others worked for Marc Jacobs, Helmut Lang, Hugo Boss and Comme des Garçons and consistently contrasted traditional, perfectly styled fashion photography with his unembellished look at fashion and quasi-documentary pictures.
The man behind the camera has been recognised as a star himself at the latest since 1996, when Teller did the Versace-Heart series with model Kristen McMenamy.

Currently readers of ZEIT magazine can get an insight into the artist's life and work in the weekly column “Unterwegs mit Juergen Teller”. Some of the photographs of that series will be exhibited during the Gallery Days. One week earlier, on 13 November, as a part of the gallery's “Conversations”, Juergen Teller will be present and talk to ZEIT-editor Christoph Amend about his work.

Right next door, at Momentum Gallery, works of young Austrian photographer Peter Garmusch will be exhibited.
In his series of photographs that were partly taken while travelling through Africa, Garmusch  focuses on seemingly everyday objects like wheelbarrows and bicycles. In his photographs he stages them in a way that makes observers look at them differently.
Garmusch's works are also published in various international magazines such as Vision, Sleek, Liebling, All Season Fashion Paper and Ten.
