Mel Merio first worked as a model in Europe, Asia and in the US. In 2002 she had her first fashion show in Vienna. Since
2003 she has worked on videos and TV campaigns for A1, ATV, Bipa, One and Römerquelle together with stylist Sammy Zayed.
In June 2004 she founded Familiensitz - a shop, café, gallery and fund shop on Florianigasse, which can currently
be found on Porzellangasse in Vienna. Mel Merio then worked as a TV-presenter for a city-talk-programme for a private Austrian
TV channel.
Mel Merio: I describe my style as Glamour Baroque with a good portion
of trash, kitsch and tackiness. I mainly design for women. These designs all accentuate their silhouettes, above all breasts
and bums which I highlight by means of generous décolletés (on the back).
Merio has lived
in New York since 2008 where she works as NYC-correspondent for the Austrian newspaper Die Presse as well as for
the private TV-channel Puls 4.
