Ute Ploier © Lisa Holzer
Ute Ploier studied fashion and graphic design at Central Saint Martins College in London for one year. Afterwards she
completed her fashion degree at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Viktor&Rolf and
Raf Simons.
Ute Ploiers work reflects her examination of ideas on masculinity prevalent in our society. In her designs, she analyses these images or ideals of masculinity by means of their dress codes, detaching and reassembling individual elements or details, often with a pinch of humour.

What is important about her work is the haptic
aspect. Ploier attaches great importance to high-quality materials that have a pleasant and sensual wearing comfort. Her designs
thrive on atypical fabric combinations and use of materials which she incorporates in her designs.
Im
not a formal designer. For me, its the idea, the concept, the social thought that counts.
