As was the case with the debut collection in 2012, GLOBALCITIZEN focuses again on a new, social form of fashion production. Apart from the mexican inspriation of the collection with the ambiguous name ilusión, GLOBALCITIZEN co-operates with the organisation Soy MARCA that supports indigenous artists in preserving their century-old traditions of embroidery and pearl weaving.

The collection is completed in Austria by retired dressmakers - a trial to find new production methods for high quality garments without economic exploitation. But there is also a focus on cultural exchange and the estimation of the craftsmanship of both countries.

In order to visualize that serious collection background - against all Mexico cliches, the colour spectrum is very reduced. Both the fabrics and the pearl weavings are all in black, white and shades of grey. An exciting new interpretation of original mexican patterns that one should see with their own eyes!
