Embedded in the avant-garde design of the shop showcasing exquisite fashion and furniture pieces, Marina Fausts photography works are now also on view at SONG.
Photographer Marina Faust, who has been working in Paris and
Vienna for a long time, in the past closely collaborated with Maison Martin Margiela and, as part of this collaboration, presented
a photo story of Margielas Artisanal Collection in the 2nd edition of A Guide Magazine, now presents the exhibition
Shelf at SONG in Vienna from 15 October to 20 November.
In the exhibition Shelf, Marina Faust
examines the moment in the life of an object shortly before or after it is art. It is about the perception of an object that
does not contain this particular art-moment in which an artwork is identified as such. They rather become objects in-between.
This unsteady existence opens up a new level of uncertainty, fully questioning their right to exist in the space. You start to wonder what an artwork is, if not one longing for observation and admiration, what the deal is with the before or after and how we eventually perceive it.
