Fashion@society

The symposium "fashion@society: Modedesign, Jugendkulturen, soziale Identitäten (fashion design, youth cultures, social identities)" on 8 September 2009 will examine the socio-political dimension of fashion as a means for social distinction and affiliation. The event, organised by the Federal Agency for Civic Education and the Goethe-Institut, will take place at the Berlin Academy of the Arts on Pariser Platz starting at 9.30 am. 

FASHION@SOCIETY is conceived as a forum for discussion also featuring innovative project presentations. Among the speakers will be designer Eva Gronbach, GDR fashion journalist Dorothea Melis and sociologist Silke Borgstedt. The symposium will be presented by Ole Tilmann, who made a name for himself with the music TV-show “Top of the Pops”.
