London Fashion Week is set to kick off on 18 February, turning London into the capital of fashion for a period of six days.
More than 60 catwalk shows and over 30 other presentations are listed in the official show calendar, once more including Peter Pilotto and Marios Schwab. After receiving last years NEWGEN Award, the label Peter Pilotto has now also been recognised with the BFC FASHION FORWARD Award next to Meadham Kirchhoff and Todd Lynn. This award provides financing for one fashion show per season during LFW in 2011.
Moreover, THE EXHIBITION A/W 11 will be on display at Somerset House from 18 to 22 February, featuring the current collections of over 200 ready-to-wear and accessories designers.
23 February is the designated menswear day during which labels such as TWEEN, KTZ (Kokon To Zai) and Cassette Playa will show their designs. This years highlights once again include the MAN showcase, as part of which Topman and Fashion East will present three up-and-coming designers: Martine Rose, Felipe Rojas Llanos and Thom Murphys label New Power Studio.
In addition to the official LFW events, there will also be numerous off-site presentations. More information can be found here: www.blow.co.uk.
