SELECTED ITEMS presents objects from the fields of fashion, accessories, jewellery and interior design which were created with technical skill and new production facilities.
The exhibition features Viennese designer Christian Steiner
and her label GON as well as the interior designers of Vandasye.
With their works, Vandasye mirror a future model of
industrial manufacturing by resorting to standardised materials for their furnishings and producing the joints by means
of rapid prototyping, a procedure for printing 3D objects.
Christina Steiner, who since the summer of 2010 has
been running the label GON by herself, presents works from her collection HE(A)RTZ where she grows crystals on fabrics. In
a process lasting several weeks, jewellery and fabric merge into a unity.
In 2009 Christina Steiner was nominated
for the Fashion Award of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture as part of the AFA-Austria Fashion
Awards. In autumn 2009 she founded the label GON together with Weiwei Xu.
