Wilfried Mayer
After completing his fashion degree at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Wilfried Mayer first worked as a mens
shoe designer for Bally in Milan for one year. His menswear is classic with a slightly eerie undertone, resulting from a subtle
alienation of details which are increasingly employed to form a harmonic contrast to the classic-timeless whole.
With his designs, he practises a sort of ironic formalism. His collections are neither self-explanatory theme collections nor will you find a manual for them, they are much more concerned with the magic of creating a lot out of little. His designs are characterised by an intensive research on menswear and etiquette, including technical details and an attention to materiality.
