There are many different ways to move (with) your body. Best evidence and the most intense introduction with regard to subtleties and nuances: this year’s Vienna International Dance Festival, which will take place again from 16 July to 16 August. For the opening, Savion Glover will give us an idea of what tap dance looks like in the 21st century on 16 July at 9.15 pm in the courtyard of the MuseumsQuartier. And the rest of the festival is also characterised by performances, research projects and workshops. Contemporary dance meets forward-looking productions by newcomers who have secured a place for themselves in the festival as part of the [8:tension] series. The renowned fashion photographer, Jork Weismann, who shot this year’s ImPulsTanz campaign, will during the time of the festival present a selection of photos in an exhibition at the ImPulsTanz festival lounge. The exhibition in the gallery space of the Novomatic Forum, which this year also houses the ImPulsTanz lounge, is free to attend every day from 12.30 pm to 6.30 pm.
