mija t. rosa

Designer Julia Cepp has designed under the label name of mija t. rosa since 2001. She studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Raf Simons. Her diploma collection Angels was awarded with the Rondo/Nokia Fashion Award.

 

The collections by mija t. rosa deal with different images of women that stand for self-determination, freedom of action and their social limitations. The designer draws most of her inspiration from movie characters, referencing the actress as well as the role she plays.

 

These conditions of lived and utopian ways of life are mirrored in the presentations which transgress genres when, for example, staged as dance performances. An album similar to a storyboard is made for every collection concept. Photographs are also part of the process of creation and are taken together with the photographer as a joint vision.
