On 12 November 2008 departure and Unit F büro für mode, in cooperation with AUSTRIANFASHION.NET, held the first fashion symposium in Vienna on the theme of FASHION - And How To Sell It?
To be able to develop efficient concepts for the improvement of the current situation, different distribution and sales channels were analysed by means of international best-practice models and the experience of international experts. The results were then evaluated for developing a suitable model for the Austrian market.
The range of speakers included the initiator of the Berlin Fashion Network (BFN) and managing director of berlinerklamotten, Lennart Jondral, Rike Doepp from the Berlin-based sales agency Agentur V, Thibault Pradet from the renowned press agency Cristofoli Press in Paris, Paul Hetherington from SHOWstudio London, Kalle Tollmar from +46 (Stockholm) and the co-director of the tradeshow and founder of the worlds first online showroom for contemporary, international fashion design, www.lenewblack.com, Vidya Narine. The first day of the one and a half-day event at MAK Vienna was dedicated to a number of public introductory presentations which served small workgroups as the basis for the discussion of models for structural improvement on the second day. Unit F was responsible for the conception of the content, Büro für Transfer organised and presented the event.
After the successful symposium, Vice-Mayor and Vice-Governor, Executive City Councillor for Finance, Economic Affairs and Vienna Public Utilities, Mag.a Renate Brauner, invited her guests to a fashion dinner.
