Solo Photo Exhibition

The exhibition shows a representative collection of the works by the young Norwegian fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø. It was put together by Michel Mallard, art director of the fashion magazine L’Officiel Paris, for the 2003 International Fashion Festival in Hyères. Most of the works, which are both black-and-white and in colour, have been digitally processed. This manipulation results in abstract still lifes, fashion and nude photos in strong colours and surreal settings. Details challenge the perception and stimulate the imagination.

Sølve Sundsbø was born in 1970. In 1999 he was awarded the best newcomer prize in the field of photography at the International Fashion Festival in Hyères. His works have been published in lifestyle magazines such as The Face, i-D, Dazed & Confused, Big, V and Visionaire. His latest productions include a 12-page editorial for Arena Homme with the title “Slick(er)” and the advertising campaign for “YSL M7: The new men’s fragrance”. He works for high-profile clients, including Mac Cosmetics, Gucci Jewellery, Nike and Levi’s.
