Under the name of Flip Flop Murkudis, Flip Flop designer Anne-Katrin Hummel has, together with Kostas Murkudis, designed a light and innovative sandals collection for men and women.

The first, limited collection of overall 10 designs will be available in select boutiques from S/S 2010 and presented on 26 February at SABA SONG in Vienna in the presence of Kostas Murkudis:
Urban Cruise is the term for a maritime line that sophisticatedly adapts sailing styles to the city. Heavily washed canvas materials and nautical elements such as cords and eyelets are reminiscent of the 60s, of the glamorous Hamptons and easygoing holidays on the sunny Riviera.
The theme Rainbow Safari sees natural colours clash with bright ones. Natural materials like vegetable-tanned leather, bast and jute are combined with a radiant colour palette. Muted colours such as dune, rice, dolphin and lime green meet Buddha-orange, Bindi-red, canary yellow, pacific blue and jeep-green.

The Degradé line is available in different colour gradients in blues, beige or metallic. The main motif of the colour gradient is mirrored in the leather as well as in the sole designs which come in four different heights. Using a novel technique, EVA and leather are layered into differently shaped soles and heels, the leather combining with details bearing Kostas Murkudis’ signature such as drawstring casing and fabric straps.

“It was important to us that every single shoe bears the signature of both brands,” explains Flip Flop’s creative director Anne-Katrin Hummel.
