2002 the jury decided to split up the award and honour two designers in equal shares, because of their equally outstanding portfolios.Unanimously Christiane Gruber and Peter Mucha were awarded with the Modepreis des BKA.
Christiane Gruber's exceptional talent to experiment with materials and processing techniques, as well as her specific codes of femininity have immediately convinced the members of the jury. With her potential she has very individual and interesting qualifications for starting her apprenticeship at an internationally renowned young designer.
Peter Mucha's portfolio impressed the jury especially with his distinctive and outstanding language of forms. With this potential he definitely meets the requirements for starting the scholarship successfully.

The collections by Ute Ploier interpret the classic theme of the suit contemporary, mdern and pointedly casual. Her style and her working methods, as well as her maturity and her independence convinced the jury and qualified her for this award.

Eva Blut's specific approach, to combine fashion and accessory, marks her uniqueness in the Austrian design scene. With this distinctive position she meets all the requirements of successfully pursuing her international career winning the Unit F Preis für internationale Presse.

Milan-based Ines Valentinitsch convinced the jury with more than one quality: her exceptional professionality and her comprehensive design concept for womenswear, as well as the balance between artistic value and commercial aspects. With the award going to Ines Valentinitsch, the jury wanted to especially honur her courage and her ability to assert herself in Milan, following her path and her international carrier.

The members of the jury decided toplace the Diesel Editorial Award twice because of the outstanding applicatons of two photographers and their teams. Unanimously the awards went to Maria Ziegelböck and team and to Bend Preiml and team. Unit F again wants to thank Diesel Austria for ist generous support and doubling the award.
