Unit F b�ro f�r mode Unit F b�ro f�r mode is an information-, communication- and co-ordination point between fashion designers, economy, science and culture. Unit F b�ro f�r mode defines fashion as cultural discourse as well as an economic factor.

Unit F b�ro f�r mode serves as an intermediary between fashion and the public sector; its sub- sections Unit F ~SUPPORT, Unit F ~PROJECT, Unit F ~ARCHIVE and Unit F ~ECONOMY act targetgroup- and topic-oriented.
   
Unit F ~ARCHIVE To begin with twenty to thirty national and international fashion designers were selected for the international fashion archive, who are presented in the internet-archive (designed by the Boris Kopeinig) including the following information: contact and press-address of the designer, text about the work of the designer, texts and photos on the current collection of the designer, short video sequence on the current show, details on the designer's creative network (photographer, stylist, DJs etc.), and details on various special projects in the cultural and economic field. Data on the designers will be updated regularly.
   
Unit F ~ECONOMY Unit F ~ECONOMY aims to establish a network between fashion, economy, commerce and industry. The first project was the Casino Fashion Flash 2000, a cooperation of the Unit F ~TEAM with the Casino Bregenz, that took place on Sept. 14th at the Bregenz Festival's Werkstattb�hne. This project did not only present four Austrian design labels, but has also successfully established business contacts between the designers and the Vorarlberg embroidering industry.
   
Unit F ~PROJECT Exhibitions on the topic fashion will be presented on an exhibition ground of 150 m2 four times a year. The exhibition program shall present fashion as a global network with other fields such as architecture, graphic- and web-design or electronic music, and thus reach the culturally interested audience in Vienna. In cooperation with international guest curators and guest speakers a contact- and communication network for Austrian designers shall be established.
In the department ~PROJECT a further series of events, to which international guest lecturers from the fields of culture, economy, industry and commerce will be invited, is planned. In a temporary shop, which will be installed twice per year for Austrian designers, contemporary fashion will be sold.
   
Unit F ~SUPPORT Unit F ~SUPPORT provides - in cooperation with a national jury - direct funding of Austrian designers twice a year (in spring and in fall). These grants are appropriated for shows, exhibitions, web-presentations, publications, participation at international shows and projects etc. Furthermore, once per year an international jury selects the winners for the awards of the Modepreis der BKA-Kunstsektion (Fashion Award of the BKA-Art Section, for upcoming talent), the Modepreis der Stadt Wien (Fashion Award of the City of Vienna) and the Unit F Preis f�r Internationale Presse und Verkauf (Unit F International Agency Award for Press and Sales). The award of the BKA-Kunstsektion consists of an apprenticeship / scholarship with an international designer for one year. The award of the City of Vienna enables young designers to participate at an international youth designer fair in Paris, London or New York. The Unit F Preis f�r Internationale Presse und Verkauf refers to the placing of a two-year international PR order to an international fashion press agency (e.g. Girault Totem, Paris).
