Unit F ~PROJECT > STATEMENTS V STATEMENTS V Veronique Branquinho, Jeremy Scott, Raf Simons and Berhard Willhelm 01 02 2001 07 04 2001 Statements V is dealing with the bathroom culture from the viewpoint of fashion designers. Veronique Branquinho, Jeremy Scott, Raf Simons and Benrhard Willhelm will show their personal visions in the framework of an exhibition. The four young designers and their work are part of the international avant-garde in the field of fashion. Accompanying the exhibition, Statements V will be published as a Fashion Edition. Veronique Branquinho was born in Belgium in 1973. After finishing her fashion studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp she presented her first collection in Paris at the age of 26. 1998 she won the VH1 Fashion Award for Best New Designer in New York. 26-year old fashion designer Jeremy Scott from Kansas, USA, stands for avant-garde, eccentricity and humour in fashion. He is fascinated by the eighties and the positions of that decade. 1996 he presented his first collection in Paris. Raf Simons, born in 1968, plays with the images of youth culture of the last 30 years in his designs. He began studying industrial design and after his diploma worked as a furniture designer. 1995 he presented his first men's collection in Milan. Benrhard Willhelm, born 1972, studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and was awarded the Honorary Prize of the Flanders Fashion Institute for his diploma. While still studying he worked assisting Alexander McQueen. The exhibition was conceived by meiré und meiré for the installation factory Aloys F. Dornbracht & Co. Since 1997 the producer of high-quality bathroom and kitchen fittings has invited internationally renowned artists, photographers, musicians and writers to develop their interpretations on the topic of bathing culture for the STATEMENTS Projects of Dornbracht.
