JURY | DESIGNERS



Michelle Nicol (CH)
She studied arthistory, writes for various art and fashion magazines (e.g. Parkett, Creative Camera, Purple and Service) and works for Zurich daily newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Additionally she is co-founder of glamour engineering TM, Zurich, and was co- editor of the books Teenage -Kultur and Presumed Innocence. 1998 Michelle Nicol was curator of the fashion section at the Berlin Biennale. At the moment she is preparing an exhibition on the Nineties with the title Sliding Down the Surface of Things.

Brigitte R. Winkler (A)
She works as fashion editor of the Austrian daily newspaper Kurier. As the only Austrian journalist she has been attending for almost 20 years now all important fashion fairs and shows in Austria and abroad. With her personal contacts, which Brigitte R. Winkler has been able to establish with the international fashion world, she frequently supports young Austrian designers. In 1993 her book Weltmeister der Mode was published, showing her experiences with the international fashion world.

Gus Beumer (NL)
At the moment he is curator for the Dutch Design Award, which will be awarded at the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam, beginning of 2001, and guest-curator for De Vleeshal, Middelburg, where he is preparing the exhibition Creed together with Rutger Wolfson and Angelique Westerhof. Being co-initiator of the crossover exhibition home-projects, conceptualised together with Renny Ramaker / Droog Design for Tokyo, Gus Beumer is also one of the founders of fashion labels SO and Orson & Bodil. Together with Alexander van Slobbe he develops the fashion conceptualisation for both labels.

Andreas Hoyer (D)
He studied Interior Design at the Fachhochschule Düsseldorf. Since 1998 he works as assistant to the manager and Creative Director at the internationally renowned agency meiré und meiré. For them Andreas Hoyer is conceptualising artprojects, e.g. for the installation company Dornbracht, which have been presented in various international museums and galleries.
