A Shaded View on Fashion Film
Unit F and FM4 present the Austrian Premiere of Diane Pernets shortfilm selection

A Shaded View On Fashion Film shakes up the old rules of fashion by putting the focus on the moving image in an industry
overwhelmingly dominated by the still photographic medium.
This trend pursued by the fashion icon, Diane
Pernet, has also reached the big fashion houses. More and more labels start to discover the importance of short films,
which no longer act purely as classic advertising instead conquering the Internet as experimental image products and viral
videos. The selection will be screened at Filmhauskino am Spittelberg as an Austrian premiere, uniting 25 selected short films
with different artistic approaches on the themes of fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Among others with Linda Evangelista, Jeremy
Scott, Dita von Teese and Mr. Pearl.
International fashion icon, Diane Pernet, was one of New Yorks
it designers in the 1980s before moving to Paris to reinvent herself as a journalist as well as a prolific
filmmaker. Her fashion blog, AShadedViewOnFsahion.com, launched in 2005 quickly made her a web pioneer. In 2006 she started
the film festival, You Wear It Well, together with Dino Dinco, which in 2008 became A Shaded View On Fashion Film, the first
annual film festival dedicated to fashion, style and beauty with short films, music and art videos.
