Angelo Cricchi: Gloomy Sunday
The Italian magazine, DROME, presents the world premiere of the project, GLOOMY SUNDAY, at MAK, Museum of Applied Arts
© Angelo Cricchi
The first works from the new series of Angelo Cricchi characterised by melancholy, glamour, art, photography, performance
and video will be presented as part of the MAK NITE©. Diane Arbus, Jean Seberg, Capucine, Virginia Woolf, Isabella Blow, Cleopatra, Didone,... all these unforgettable
women have one tragic thing in common: they all chose to end their own lives. Angelo Cricchi, one of Italys best fashion
photographers, has dedicated a series of imaginary portraits to these women.
A performative installation by Keramik
Papier, an autopiano playing Gloomy Sunday - the saddest piece in the history of music - on loop will
make for the perfect setting. A video by Silvia Morani shows impressions from behind the scenes of the making of the photo
project.
A DJ set by the artist, Jan Machachek, will conclude the evening.
